UMC customers look to Japanese and South Korean foundries for mature processes

Due to tight capacity and a potential price increase at United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), Taiwanese IC design firms have turned to UMC’s Japan-based subsidiary and South Korea’s Dongbu Anam Semiconductor for mature processes, according to sources.
