Epistar expects 60% of sales from AlGaInP LED chips in 2006

Taiwan-based Epistar expects to see AlGaInP (aluminum gallium indium phosphide) LED chips contributing 60% of its overall sales in 2006, driven by strong demand for red LEDs for use in white-LED backlights for large-size panels, according to the company.
